Heather J. Hurd

   Is a Nationally Certified Physician Assistant. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree at Hofstra University with a Major in Physician Assistant studies and a Minor in Psychology. During her studies at Hofstra University,she performed clinical rotations in all major fields of medicine working in various hospitals and offices throughout the New York region. Heathers past specialty was Vascular Surgery where she worked with End Stage Renal Disease patients to create and mature Arteriovenous (AV) fistulas, and inserted grafts and venous catheters for their dialysis treatments.  She also performed ultrasound study evaluations for aortic aneurysms, carotid artery stenosis, and deep vein thrombosis.Heather is currently a Certified Medical Examiner where she is able to examine patients for the latest Occupational Safety and Health Administration Requirements (OSHA), Department of Transportation (D.O.T.), N.Y.S. 19-A, U.S. Coastguard, U.S. Army, and U.S. Navy Certifications.  She now works along with specializing in the restoration of the aged face to a more youthful appearance.  Heather has an expertise in Medical and Aesthetic Dermatology treating many different patient issues. These include: administering Fillers and Botulinum Toxins, laser treatments, SkinPen treatments, PRP treatments, Hair restoration PRP treatments, performing skin checks and biopsies, evaluating and treating skin rashes and lesions, and assessing and treating patients with acne. Heather stays current on all the latest treatments and procedure techniques.  She is a member of the Society of Dermatology for Physician Assistants (SDPA) and enjoys working in Dermatology due to its diversity.
